Frequently asked questions
What does nearshore mean, exactly?
A team in a nearby country and time zone, as opposed to offshore teams 8 to 12 hours away. For a US company, Colombia means live collaboration during your working day, with the cost advantage of Latin America.
How do you handle contracts, IP and NDAs?
We sign an NDA before discovery if you need one, and our standard agreement assigns all intellectual property to your company. Invoices are issued in US dollars by Arista Dev S.A.S., a Colombian company founded in 2014.
How do payments work from the US?
International wire transfer to our Colombian business account, in US dollars, by milestone for fixed projects or monthly for retainers. Terms are agreed in writing before work starts.
Do I need technical staff on my side?
No. We need someone who knows the operation and can make decisions. We handle the technical side and explain it in business terms.
What happens if we want to switch vendors later?
You take everything with you: code, data, documentation and infrastructure are in your name from day one. That is our policy, not a favor.
Can we start small?
Yes, and we recommend it: a short first phase with a closed scope and price that delivers something usable. It is the best way to evaluate how we work with little at stake.
